Hlengiwe Buthelezi

Hlengiwe is an international Human Rights Activist, mostly taking care of Queer and women’s rights.  
 
She mainstream gender parity 
 
She’s a sports passionate person who was South African soccer player (striker), later on hanged up soccer boots for running shoes  in Athletics as a middle distance runner (Track & Field, road & X County). Represented South Africa in national and international championships (Multi Gold medalist)
Started participating in Gay Games since 2002 – 2018.  
 
2009 Founded KwaZulu-Natal LGBT Recreation organization for Queer advocacy
 
2017 Founded African LGBTIQ Sports (AfroGames) to raise  awareness against homophobia & hatecrimes because Sports is unifying factor amongst communities.
 
2018 Elected as Board Member of the Federations of Gay Games (re-elected in 2020)
 
2020 Elected as a Converner of Embrace Diversity Movement 
 
2021 Elected as a Convener of LGBTIQA+ Desk within ANC Women’s League 
 
2022 Represented LBTI community abd selected as 1 of the for speakers in the KZN Women’s parliament in August 2022.  August is South African national women’s month
