Meriç is among the queer identified soccer team Atletik Dildoa. They have been engaged with LGBTI+ activism since second year of high school through Gay Straight Alliance group. They are one of the founders of Lion Queer, the first registered LGBTI+ studies student club in a governmental university in Turkey and was also part of Galatasaray University Women Studies Club (GSÜKAK). They were also part of several initiatives; Lesbian Bisexual Feminists, Atletik Dildoa (Queer Identified Football Team), Queer Olympix.
